“and the one not working,” – who is that?

Romans 4:5 “τῷ δὲ μὴ ἐργαζομένῳ, πιστεύοντι δὲ ἐπὶ τὸν δικαιοῦντα τὸν ἀσεβῆ, λογίζεται ἡ πίστις αὐτοῦ εἰς δικαιοσύνην, ” - Westcott and Hort 1881

It is the one who is not under the law… i.e. the one under the second covenant of grace… the one calling him/herself a Christian. “and believing upon the justifying of the ungodly,” – who is the one referred to here believing in the justifying of the ungodly?

His / her faith. To recap… The focus of justification re the ungodly is upon the ungodly PERSON. The focus of justification re the one not working is upon his/her FAITH? This verse therefore also says that the FAITH of the one not believing in the justification of the ungodly is UNRIGHTEOUS. And since faith can only exist as being of righteousness, the term “unrighteous faith” is nothing else but an oxymoron… two words that cannot be conjunctively used… at least in Biblical terms. When we talk about faith, it is automatically accepted as being of righteous nature. To have faith in Jesus Christ and at the same time deny what He has accomplished with His sacrificial death for all mankind… is simply to deny CHRIST Himself! And the moral of the story? People calling themselves “Christians” and deny the justification of the ungodly… are simply no Christians at all… but unbelievers as well. A scary statement for millions upon millions of so-called ‘everlasting-hell- believing’ Christians… to say the least. What did Paul bring in conjunction with disobedience in Hebrews 3:18-19? Unbelief! And under what condition did Jesus say eternal life is possible in John 6:47? Faith! Proverbs 2:4-5 “ 4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.” - New International Version Are treasures scattered around for easy access? No, treasures are hidden and have to be searched for. There are, however, treasures… and treasures. Proverbs 2:4 is talking about a treasure in singular form. And this treasure has remained hidden and [conveniently] ‘unnoticed’ for generation upon generation… the treasure of Romans 4:5 . Do modern day pastors preach about this Truth… ever? No. Too risky. Too much at stake… not so? Their ‘everlasting condemnation’ doctrine world-wide ensures their silence around this beautiful Biblical verse of HOPE … to ALL mankind. Since ALL peoples of the world have been declared righteous and acceptable before God, what about the unbelief of so many? God will graciously deal with that… if not on this planet… then either in Hades ( 1 Samuel 2:6 and Luke 16:23-31 ), or in the Lake of Fire ( Revelation 21:8 )… being the last station of God’s disciplinary track. The Lake of Fire IS God Himself ( Hebrews 12:29 )… needless to say that He will be there with everyone present. Although it will be a place of agony… He is and will be still a God of love. Discipline is sore. Don’t all children know this? Discipline is for the GOOD. And to shut the mouths of all the ‘Christian’ doom and gloom prophets… the anxiety merchants of this world… The Lake of Fire is the second death ( Revelation 21:8 ) and will be conquered ( 1 Corinthians 15:26 )! God WILL wipe off ALL tears ( Revelation 21:4 ) ! THIS IS THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST! Praise His Name! HALLELUJAH! May God bless you, whoever you are… wherever you are. THERE IS HOPE FOR ALL AMEN
